St Andrew’s Day at Eton marks the occasion of the famous Wall Game where the Collegers (King’s Scholars) take on the Oppidans (rest of the school) in a game somewhere betwixt rugby and football. The game is utterly unique to Eton and its rules are universally not understood.

The image depicts the tradition of the Oppidan boys sitting atop the wall and the chosen Oppidans, having thrown their caps over the wall, clambering through their brothers, to meet their foe: the Collegers.
